Melbourne’s Luna Park

The Laughing Face at the entrance has been a St Kilda landmark since Luna Park opened in 1912.  Considered to be the world’s oldest amusement park and possibly the only one of its kind still in operation, Luna Park has been enjoyed by visitors to St Kilda for generations.  Its classic wooden rollercoaster, the Great Scenic Railway, is the only one of its kind in Australia and continues to operate in much the same manner as it did since Luna Park opened.  Today, Luna Park offers a galaxy of amusements and sensations, from jaw-dropping, eyeball-popping super thrill rides like the Pharaoh’s Curse, Metropolis and the Enterprise, to exhilarating rides like the Spider, Twin Dragon, G Force and new Coney Island Top Drop.
