Weather & Climate
Melbourne – and St Kilda – is renowned for its changeable conditions. The temperature can range from cool to hot, ranging from an average minimum of 6°C (43°F) in winter to an average maximum of 25°C (77°F) in summer. But, with the help of hot winds from the north or icy winds originating in Antarctica, it can of course be significantly hotter or colder than that, and 40°C (104°F) in summer is not uncommon. So bring layers of clothing that can be worn or removed as required. Check the forecast here when packing your suitcase.
Melbourne is ten hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (+10 GMT) and observes Daylight Saving from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. See what time it is here. Click here for Public Holiday and School Term dates.
